The 11th Annual!
Marine Breeding Initiative Workshop
We are excited to announce the 2020 MBI Workshop will be held at Hagfors Center on the campus of Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN!
The MBI Workshop is tailored to provide the most cutting-edge captive breeding information to hobbyist breeders and professional aquarists in a setting that promotes interaction and free exchange of ideas. The only event of its kind dedicated to you, the marine breeder!
If you are interested in the captive breeding of marine ornamentals on any level, this is the event to attend. Not only will you hear the latest information from some of the most innovative people involved, but you will also have ample time to chat with them directly and meet other breeders that share your passion.
We will be following a format similar to what we’ve used in the past with an informal reception on Friday evening, Workshop all day on Saturday, and a casual get-together on Sunday so plan your travel accordingly!
Speakers and topics will be posted as soon as they are confirmed. Check the schedule page for updates on specific times and locations.
We would like to thank our sponsors, speakers, attendees, and everyone involved in making the 2019 MBI Workshop a success! Have a look at the photos below!
The Marine Breeding Initiative was created as an online tool to encourage marine aquaria hobbyists to get involved in the captive breeding of marine organisms. The MBI was designed with the help of leading experts in the breeding of marine ornamentals realm to be a standardized database and award system that can be both fun and freely accessed by everyone. Open-source sharing of information is vital to the MBI’s core principals.
The MBI is a division of a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization that relies on public donations and fundraisers to continue to maintain its database and host the MBI Workshop.
